Brilliant day for football, even managed to get a bit of a tan Laughing

We dominated first half, the first 10 minutes aside, and put some good moves together. KilTinner and Howson looked good in the middle and passed the ball around well with the ever dangerous Snodgrass moving down the right flank.

Thought we deserved to be in front at HT possibly by more than one.

The second half was a much more backs to the wall job with Naylor and Sodjie defending brilliantly. Although Colchester never created any clear cut chances they did have the opportunity to put some balls into the box andf move the ball about midfield.

However, we pressed well and kept a good shape never giving them a clear opportunity.

The main difference under Grayson to our time under Gary Mac was summed up for me on Saturday. No matter how good you are, what team you are, you cannot play well for 90 minutes. Under GM we played some lovely stuff and were very good when we were on top. However, when under the cosh, which any team will experience at some point we are now able to ride it out and defend well, something we were not unable to do under GM.

Thus, you now feel that when we go a goal up or take the lead we have a good chance of holding on for the 3 points, something that did not happen under GM.

If we get to the playoffs, we will need this kind of resolve, especially away from home if we take the lead or are drawing.

Casper-7- Played well, came from crosses and caught most of them. Brilliant save in the first half, best game for a while.

Parker- 7- Solid

Naylor- 7.5 Usual Solid performance, made one mistake in the first half to head back towards Casper which was intercepted. Love his attitude, anything kicks off and he's there striaght away.

Sodjie- 8- Brilliant, got his head to everything and very solid. One silly mistake to try let the ball go out, nearly got punished, but think he is a brilliant player at this level. Showed hugh comittment and love for the fans.

Duggy 7- Has really impressed me at right back, we know he has a lack of pace, but good positinal play and get stuck in.

Delph 8- Best game for some number of months, had the beating of Yates, who he showed up several times. Loved his beating of the badge to the Leeds fans, passion from a yopung lad, if he means it.

KilTinner- 7- Decent game, very good first half, but faded second half. Was calling for Robbo to be brought on and delph moved inside 10 minutes before Grayson did.

Howson-7 Same at KilTinner

Snoddy- 7.5 Usual all action performance, love his deliverly of set plays, we actually look like scoring.

Becchio 8- Brilliant finish and all round good display, held the ball up well

Beckford-6 Lazy, uniterested and contributes very little when he does not score. Amazes me how he fails to stay onside!
