My favourite Leeds Player was Gary Kelly! I know he wasnt the greatest right back ever but I think his consistancy and loyalty to our beloved club was unquestionable.
Who was your fav and why? _________________ Marching on Together! |

I have a few that I can't choose between;
Batty for two reasons, the first games I ever went to in the 92-93 season he stood out for me most, I think I probably liked it when the ground chanted "Batty! Batty! Batty!" and was a firm fan favourite so being a small boy just latched onto him along with everyone else. Then when he came back, for just how he played and his attitude. Also, I've no idea where my dad got this from, but I had a life size cardboard cut out of him for years in the '92-'93 kit. Must have been from the clubshop when they were getting rid of it for the season after, but it stood on our landing for years, frightening any visitors to death!
Then Yeboah just for him being amazing. I'll never forget being at the Wimbledon game. What sticks out for me more than that goal is when at second half kick off, whoever was kicking off with Yeboah chipped it up for him and he smashed it from the centre spot and hit the post/bar/corner bit.
Probably more questionably then, is Bowyer for his form in the Champions League, questionably because of what he got up to etc and the situation he was in at the time. But that's another matter, he was unbelievable at the time. |

Vinny Jones , Tony Dorigo, Lucas Radebe and I have to say i was a huge Bowyer fan at one point.
No favourites anymore as theres no heroes left in football (for me)- last of the heroes was Radebe! _________________ Undisputed 2008/2009 Prediction league Champion Of The World! |

Im sad to say I agree there arent really any heros left in Football. Not the english game anyway. A modern day hero for me would be Messi. I have never seen another player today get kicked about the place and get up and carry on like him. None of this world class diving from the likes of drogba and ranaldo. I swear if they got a slap of a hurley they would probably die!
Radebe was a legend too.
Im kinda surprised no one has mentioned Gordan Strachan yet. I think he was a great player.
Eddie Gray is my Dads hero. Dad reckons he was better than George Best!!! _________________ Marching on Together! |

the thing about heroes is they tend to be the sliglty lesser characters or players..obviously wee gordon was brilliant but he's an obvious choice. _________________ Undisputed 2008/2009 Prediction league Champion Of The World! |

Nigel Martyn for me.
He was amazing and when he was playing I was a kid and was a keeper so I idolised the man.

I think Shay given falls into that catagory. I dont blame him one bit for moving to man city, really he should have gone to someone like Arsenal years ago.
He still says "we" when talking about Newcastle. He stayed as long as he could like.
Ryan Gigs, though it pains me to say it seems like a loyal player. he sitll plays for the love of the game. although Im sure he has a nice wage packet every week! _________________ Marching on Together! |

Warrington White. Your dad was right, Eddie Gray never really got the credit he deserved. The finest winger I ever saw.
But for me, Its King Billy. He was Leeds Utd. |
