i've said it before and i'll say it again in fear of sounding like a stuck record....FUCK EM!!! Couldn't give a monkeys!!!!

Whilst it's sad when any club gets into that state and further underlines what this game is all about these days - dont remember any sympathy coming our way!!

tough titties, said at the time the football league were playing a dangerous game by giving us a 15 point deduction,no one seemed to care at our predicament at the time with many laughing at us so tough luck ive got  no sympathy at any clubs position now.

I reckon a few clubs out there weren't laughing quite so much at our predicament even back then, knowing the state of their own finances. A fair few did vote for us about the extra 15 points... wasn't it around 20 or so clubs? I'd love to know who they were, but my guess would be that they were largely clubs who knew they were also in shite - Darlo, Rotherham, Barnsley etc etc. I seem to remember Mandaric at Leicester coming out and saying he'd voted in our favour, saying he thought the extra 15 were harsh.

Still, I agree with the 10 points deduction. Personally think it should be more. You shouldn't be allowed to screw over either local businesses that can barely afford it or the tax man (i.e. basically us, the suckers who have to pay tax) and get away with it scott free like Leicester did a few years back.

Hard on the fans, and I have a bit of sympathy, because I know how pissed off I was 3 years ago, but hey... didn't see any of them crying for us. I won't lose any sleep over this. Just wish it had been Norwich or Charlton instead.

I dont like seeing points being deducted off any side because in the end the only people who suffer are the players and the fans. Its the cowboys who get the clubs into these situations that should be punished and banned from having further dealings with football clubs. risdale for example should not have been let anywhere near cardiff!!!

Hmm, like some have said above, I hate seeing any football club struggle like this, and can't figure out my opinion because of knowing how it felt/, and damn well still feels with what happened to us, yet they had a say in what happened to Leeds so I suppose what goes around comes around and that's that.

Southend out of Admin and no points deducted? All because they paid their tax bill.... I thought that if you went into admin it was automatic -10 points?

Good old football league!

I don't think they were ever in administration, just on the verge if the IR took the money it was owed, I think they just found someone to pay the bill for them, thus avoiding losing loads of money and being put into administration.

Bob's right about Southend.

Seriously guys, I think the way that the FL have treated other clubs proves that there is no particular grudge against Leeds. Ask Bournemouth, Luton and countless others... It's against clubs who mismanage their finances and expect to get away with it.

At the risk of being controversial, I feel more sorry for all these clubs than I did for ourselves. We got into a mess through borrowing ludicrous sums of money to buy players we couldn't afford and pay them wages well beyond the call of duty (Seth Johnson anyone?)

All these other clubs have ever really done is borrowed money just to try to stay afloat. The main reason for this is the appalling way that residual income in football (league sponsorship, Sky money etc) is distributed massively in favour of the big clubs. Until the authorities start to share the pie a bit more equally, more and more clubs will go into admin. Unfortunately, the authorities just classify this as 'mis-management' and punish the 'guilty.'

Sadly I think it's going to take a dozen or so clubs to actually fold before the idiots in charge wake up and realise that they, themselves, are a massive cause of the problem.
