The Foundations of Recovery.....Just thought I would get the heads up on opinion, the day Delph went to Villa seemed to be a backward step for the majority of Leeds fans including me, and I thought back then that we had sold the key to promotion down the toilet.
Got a huge game Saturday and it will be a real test of not only talent (which Delph had by the bucketfull) but also our change in mentality....coming off the back of the Cesspool performance with national and global media coverage and praise, they have to quickly focus and the bread and butter war fare that is getting out of League One, MK is gonna be a huge indicator of how strong a club we are now mentally in compariosn to previous playoff final capitualtions and performing when it matters most.
Off the field, all indications point to a very financially stable club, living within its means with sure but slow investments in our infastructure along the way (LUTV, Billys Bar, Howards Way, scoreboard).
I am personally looking forward to the next set of accounts to see how and where teh Delph money has been apportioned to the business, The East Stand development although lauded in some quarters as a white elephant, it is a bit of a masterstroke for the Conference & Banquetting business, meaning delegates can now stay on site overnight and have entertainment on their doorstep.....C&B will be a world class business in its own right away from the football side, and again its all part of the infastructure that will rival anything that the so called Big 4 have!
The grass shoots of recovery are now saplings, Thorp Arch will be less of a noose around the club thanks to LCC and I am sure teh ground will be back in the clubs hands once the East Stand development contracts are signed, The World Cup should certianly come to Leeds if England win the bid and LUFC will make millions for having teh facilities already in place to accomodate the global media circus that will travel. Love or Hate Bates....its difficult to find further excuses to say he is still going to shaft the club somewhere along the line and see us playing in the Northern Counties league!
The only way is up.....MOT and Proud too be a Leeds fan!

I agree with you 100%. I know some people hate bates but cant deny the fact that the club is booming. He makes no excuses for doing what has to be done to get Leeds back to the Premiership and thats what I like. H also doesnt walk on eggshells when it comes to commenting on other clubs which might land him in hot water some day.
Love the guy or hate the guy, he is doing a good job and is like a 1 man ad campaign for Leeds.

The only person who has turned Leeds around is Simon Grayson for putting together this squad on a shoestring budget.
Untill we actually see some of the money we have made coming back into the club i for one won't trust bates and probably never will.
In my opinion he got lucky big time with the arrival of grayson,because at the time this club was going nowhere...

I myself were not concerned when Delph went,as for parts of last season he lost form,and had feeling we,d tick on nicely without him,which we have,imo we got a good fee,and we,ve moved on and done well,good luck to the lad @ Villa....
Grayson and the coaching staff as done wonders,with a side which was way down on confidence when he came in and transformed it,considering he,s only actually spent £250,000 in his time here on Bromby,thats some doin...

grayson and his backroom team have worked wonders with virtually the same squad we had last season,he has installed confidence and consistancy in the players that we did not have with macca in charge last season.i for one am at last feeling confident of a sucessful season.
