Regional Members ClubsLads
Just to get the heads up we have members of the Stockport Whites, Leicester Whites and South Wales Whites on here?, have I missed any?
The first RMC in Australia will be up and running in a couple of weeks, just wondered if you could share your fund raising ideas with me on this thread?, teh club are giving us a signed shirt and ball for auction, and we will be paying subs, and we are pretty certain that Mark Viduka will be our honorary president before the end of the season!!, all looking good for us to hit the ground running from start up.
I see Imre and Stockport White are heavilly involved in their branches?

Hi mate - the first thing that comes to mind is that we end every branch meeting with a leeds united quiz. A quid or aussie equivalent to enter and winner takes half, branch takes other half, although at our branch the winner (me every time) has just told the branch to keep the money. Good easy way of getting the coffers up and a great laugh too that really brings everyone together at the end of the evening. Seperates the men from the boys when it comes to knowledge too
How many memebers will you be kicking off with out of interest? You'd be surprised how quick the numbers swell, we've only been going 4 months or so but on last count had about 40 members with more to join.

Best of luck with your branch Brisbane...
My own Branch(South wales) were formed in mid 90,s,during late 90,s early 00,s when we were doin well,would take a bus load up,picking up @ Various Locations around South Wales and Surrounding valley towns...
Over last 6-7 years when times have been not so good,Member count as dropped Down,Nowadays they,re lucky if get 8-10 in minibus for a home game and less for away matches,as a few of away games are not that far away Bristol,Swindon etc i tend more often than not to get train to games these days...

Some of things we've done:
* Quizzes
* Raffled the ball and shirt
* Football Cards
* Joining Fee
Good luck with it, it's a great way to meet up with fellow fans, I didn't know we had so many in Stockport. Plus although my mates are pretty clued up now about Leeds, they do get sick of my ramblings, it's great to chat to fellow fans about the club we love.

Good luck in setting up the RMC fella (Why viduka though ) in my experience of any LUFC forums is usually a hard thing to do getting it going, A couple of year back someone tried setting one up but it all ended in tears, what he wanted to do was unbelievable i think global domination would have been easier, the guy was a total prick with idea's above his station by all accounts in the end it went just as quick as it appeared.
So i think you need to get the fans together on a regular basis before you start bigging up ideas, there are a hell of a lot off supporters clubs out there and people are always wary of some "Jack the lad" with big ideas.

definately an idea to start small and build from there. As i said before we are in our first year and the guy who runs it is to an extent making it up as he goes along,no big ideas for this season just regular meetings and trips to games, once thats all running smoothly more will happen.
You find though that everyone who joins will be more than willing to help out in some capacity, obviously ou get some people with 'big ideas' or those that think they could do a better job but if people are patient then everything will be fine.

cheers Imre, keep an eye out for the launch in LLL Magazine soon, not expecting miracles at first, just abit of a social club and fundraising for LUFC/RMC. Not as though we can get to the games sadly, although we may be coming to UK for a 2 week holiday next August (timed nicely for start of season), hope we are in CCC and might even get to get on the pitch for presentation of RMC certificate!........fingers crossed eh

True but you can at least get as many members together as possible for game son the box etc- more fundraising there with sweepstake on first goal scorer and the like. Helps if you have a good venue for meetings and in your case watching games too, we are lucky in that one of the members of the branch is the landlord of the pub we hold our meetings in.
