O/T Boy, 14, plunges into path of oncoming Leeds train

This is actually my brother  Sad

A 14-year old was pulled out of the path of an oncoming train after falling onto a live railway line in Leeds. The teenager plunged off the footbridge at Oldfields Lane, Wortley.

Reports from the local area said the teenager had fallen onto the power lines before tumbling onto the track below, into the path of the oncoming Leeds to London train.

It is believed two other teenagers who saw him fall ran on to the track and dragged him back as the train approached

The extent of his injuries is not known. However, he was airlifted to hospital in an air ambulance.

A spokeswoman for British Transport Police Leeds confirmed officers were called to the footbridge at Oldfields Lane, Wortley, at just before 6.30pm on Saturday after reports someone had fallen onto the track.

She said he had been "in contact with the overhead electrical wiring".

He was treated by ambulance workers at the scene and later transferred to Leeds General Infirmary.

There were "no suspicious circumstances", the spokeswoman said, and the railway line was closed for about an hour after the incident.

A spokeswoman for Leeds General Infirmary said the injured boy had been transferred to a hospital in Sheffield.

He was actually electrocuted by the overhead wiring and has suffered severe burns, the overall burn coverage is 22% (22% of his body is burnt), the burns go right down to his muscle and he is lucky there is no muscle damage, ane he is needing skin grafts on both the top of his hamstrings.

Send him my well wishes Jay (or tell your Mum to).

He wont be the same for a long time (probs never), he'll be reminded of that day, every day, for the rest of his life.

Poor lad, and I hope he has the mental capacity to overcome it all, even when he's psychically "better".
Batfastard

All the best to your bro, yourself and your family, mate
