Merson on sky sports re: BeckfordSpot on imo...
Can see why prem league clubs have not come in for him.....
Feels he could do well in CCC,but reckons he,d struggle in prem league...
Think merson is 100% spot on re: those views....
Your thoughts lads??

Same as most of us think really, championship is about his limit...

Question mark remains can beckford do it in the big games in front of the bigger crowds, millwall home in playoffs and Last night spring to mind, must say though he showed more effort last night than he did in that playoff home semi, where tbh he were poor.

certainly agree that beckford is no where near prem quality and i would go as far to say he could struggle a little in the ccc at the moment but he can only improve if he just worked harder for the team and did not sulk when things are not going his way then i believe with the right players around him he can go on to be a class act in the ccc but thats gonna be his limit i believe cos there is a huge gap in quality needed from the ccc to the prem.

he's too hot headed... anytime there is trouble on the pitch 9 times out of ten he is involved in some shape or form...

how many times last season did beckford get booked or sent off for dissent! I have to say though I think he got a bit of a land when no premier league clubs came in for him over the summer and his attitude has really improved this season. Well we'll see what happens.

Beckford is nowhere near premiership quality at the moment. Give him half a season of acclimatising to a higher standard of football than he's used to and he might just make the grade. Remember he took a long time adjusting from non-league football to our standards at this level..... it will take time and practice again for him to make another step up. I do believe he has it within him - the main thing holding him back is his attitude, though.
Tried too hard against the scousers, imo. Desperate to impress the watching hordes.

why is it I wonder that Beckford cant score on the big ocassions. milwall in the play offs always sticks out and MK last season too. and the othe night against liverpool, although not for lack of trying. he just can never seem to follow through when we're all counting on him! do you think that the pressure gets to him?

Could well do,in the playoff games v Carlisle and Millwall he,went missing, tbf don,t think he were 100% fit over our last 2 play off campaigns hence why imo he were our worse player both times....
Other night though he did not hide, and the effort were there,as BF said maybe a case of trying too hard, lets hope he resumes normal service today
