hopefully this year will be a repeat of 89/90 promotion season,
my biggest memory of that season was the result at oxfords manor ground,back then we had no sky sports gillette soccer saturday,
no internet streaming of games,no mobile phone text alerts,
here in ireland we were solely dependant on bbc radio,
that day i was at work got h/t score 2nil down,
depression set in,following a few poor results previous to this
it looked as if we had blown it,
got home 5pm just in time for bbc sport report,
main headlines were wins for liverpool,arsenal etc but
comeback of the day goes to leeds utd who came from
2 down to win 4 2, season back on track,
this remains etched in my memory, m.o.t

Have very happy/great memories of that season,as it were season,i first got into leeds and started watching them...

My 1st visit to Elland road,were week after we had beaten Oxford 2-4,home game v West Ham 3-2 win,after that game were hooked and been a fan since...

Own the 89-90 season video on VHS,last watched it one weekend during the Summer,just to remind me how things once were and how good they were...

Other games did manage to get too in 89/90 were Home games v Bradford 1-1,last min pen for them i remember and Leicester City final home game of that season,and Strachs great winner

and bein on pitch with thousands of others after game,even though we had not clinched promotion,always remember day we won promotion,did,nt get a ticket for Bournemouth,boiling hot day,sat in my mates car listening to radio 5 for updates on how we were doin,and the joy when it were confirmed we were up....

As Cork pointed out in those days,there were no net,mobiles,Sky sports etc,it were a case of sitting watching Grandstand/World of sport or listening to Radio 5,waiting for scoreboard updates and reports,Then waiting til Match of Day in evening,or the Big Match on a sunday on itv,around that time 89-90,well not long after then Satellite tv 1st reared its head BSB,which later became BSKYB,from 92-93 onwards when sky won footy contract football then changed,certain aspects of the game,the grounds after Hillsborough etc etc

was all about west ham away that season for me (home wasnt bad either) 1-0,....ooohhhhhhh vinny vinny, vinny vinny vinny vinny jones!!! first ever away game! mental atmosphere...wheres ya famous ICF???? chanted as leeds marched down to upton park!! marvellous!

I was only 2 but Im sure I was dressed in an oversized Leeds jersey and plonked up on the couch beside my dad watching the match if it was on the tv!!! My dad loves telling me about all the times he had to go to a pub to watch Leeds play and how the place would be full of whites fans and it would go mental when Leeds would score.
I still plonk down on the couch in an oversized jersey with my dad to watch Leeds on the box, but this time Im the one shouting at the telly!!!
I dont know how the die hard fans survived with out text, email, SSN etc. I couldnt watch the Norwich match the other night and had to rely on texts from a friend for the score! I nearly died!

I hope this year we go up and we go up in style!!! I dont just want Leeds to win this league! I want them to run away with it!!!!
