Leeds v HartlepoolHad a bit of a nightmare yesterday, with not thinking I could get the time of work, I'd given my ticket to my brother, only to find out on Monday I could go! So I spent 45 minutes queuing up to get my ticket, got in the ground bang on kickoff while at least 500 people were still outside queuing (it was the length of the West Stand!).
Got up to my seat in N12, nearest I could get to where my dad and brother were in N11 and lo and behold two rows behind me was Mids, had a brief chat, but the match was on so concentrated on that.
We were soon a goal down, defence nowhere to be seen again. Slowly we got back into the game and began to play our passing game without really threatening too much, got a lucky break and Snoddy scored, although I don't know why he insisted on taking it around his man twice!
He later ran off the pitch in what Macca described as a bad stomach (he had the shits) and while we were down to 10 men the ball fell kindly to Porter who's shot lobbed Casper (who looked nervous throughout imo).
Beckford came on and was deployed in a wide right role, god knows why as he already has 11 goals!
Second half we were much better, looked brighter and stronger and as the game went on Robbo became more and more influential, he played a fantastic ball to Prutton who cut inside played a ball across the box and after a bit of pinball Enoch poked it over the line.
Once we got the second, there was only going to be one winner it was just about when it was going to come, Beckford, Howson, Prutton among others all had chances to win it.
But it was Robbo that popped up on the right, was looking to cross it and then unleashed a screamer that flew across the goal and into the top corner, don't know how he managed it, but don't care either.
Overall performance 6/10 - Job done and showed some good qualities to come from behind twice. Just a shame we conceded two sloppy goals.
