Did we have one last night??????? Howson was annonymous. That's the luckiest 3 points we will get this season. Not too impressed with our full backs neither. We were lucky that Naylor Bronby and Doyle were on decent form through the center, or we would definately have lost this one.

Thought Johnson apart the other 3 were very poor last night,Howson as you said went missing,Doyle it seemed didnt have his best game,and snoddy tbh didnt look fully fit...

Yes we,re doin well and winning games,but still have certain concerns re: midfield have had for years tbh...

Agree we werent very good in the middle of the park.

I think Johnson is fearless and its a great quality to have,he always wants the ball and isnt affraid to pass it.

Doyle is another story,im trying not to think or say anything against this guy just yet but overall so far he hasnt impressed me too much,he gives away silly free kicks,passing could be better and i just dont think his presence in felt enough on the pitch.........but as i say im trying to hold off judgement lol

Snoddy last night can be forgiven he just wasnt fit enough,this was made very clear in the first half when he had a great chance to break the whole way through but opted to try find help and ended up giving ball away,a fit snoddy would have kept going and got a shot off.

Howson,simple as this really i think he needs to be dropped for a game or two,he needs to know/remember he cant just show up and be in the starting 11 he needs to produce each and every week.

Norwich lined up with a midfield that compacted the middle, I thought we struggled to match them in the first half with just Howson and Doyle. In the second we altered our formation and despite not playing it before we were much more improved and in the progress stifled their threat.

I watched the rerun of the match earlier and it looked as though Howson struggled after getting an injury in the first half, but the second half he showed some good touches and movement futher forward - I'm not sure he is suited to a battling CM role, he reminds me slightly of Stevie G and would suit playing behind the front two - i.e where Snoddy played in the second half.

However, as Grayson prefers 4-4-2, I cannot see this happening in the future.

Doyle does a lot of the dirty work and isn't the best player to watch, as mentioned above he struggle slightly as Norwich had more numbers in the middle of the park last night.

sorry guy it wernt howson and doyles fault last night

howson and doyle battled all through the first half against 4 or 5 norwich mid fielders with next to no help from johnson and snoddy no wonder they struggled a bit

second half grayson brought bradley more into the centre took snoddy off and all of a sudden we not only compete with them we started to dominate in mid field

there were lots of positives for me

1 grayson realised what was wrong and CHANGED IT

2 volks looked a class act and will play a big part for us imo

3 we finally have an impact sub who makes an impact (MAX IS THE MAN) see you robbo you fat scouse get

kisnobro was a huge miss today

but WTF 3 points against a team who are going to be there or there abouts in may while not playing at our best and with no left back no first choice keeper and centre back and our no2 striker out as well

Agree with most of your post ww apart from snoddy who looked nowhere near match fit last night and personally think he has done pretty well this season,well enough to earn a international call up anyway..

I am going to try and save my comments until I see all the match (thank god for sky plus! so I will see the match at the weekend)

But from what my dad and some others have told me, gradle was a god send, vokes wasnt anything special and howsons injury ment he didnt play his best. as for snods I dont think he is fully fit yet, and doyle isnt the prettiest play but like was said above, he does the dirty work.

I still think beckfords first touch could be better though. Its fine getting in good crosses and through balls, which gradle (from the highlights I saw) is good at, but if becks cant control the pass, then its a wasted oppertunity.
But I have to say Grayson is the right man for the job. to repeat what was said above. When hee sees something wrong he changes it!!! that was somthing macca ( who I adore!) never seemed to be able to do!

and if we can win, even when playing crap, well then I dont think there is that much to worry about. I worry about playing the poor teams in this league, a fear of underestimating the opposition!

thats just what I think. I cant wait to get home and watch the match!
